Specialties & Approach
I integrate a variety of best practices and therapeutic modalities within my work. As a therapist, I aim to weave these methods directly into the skills, mindsets or challenges we are working on or through together. At the core of my approach is my belief that the most important relationship is the one between you & you.
-
ACT is helpful in building a stronger, healthier relationship between you & your emotions. ACT supports development of values and goals, and living in alignment with those values and goals.

CBT posits that our thoughts influence our feelings, which then influence our behavior. By learning more helpful, supportive thinking habits, you can change your feelings and behaviors and make positive, long-term changes. CBT framework offers a supportive guide to core belief deconstruction and reconstruction.
-
DBT is rooted in CBT. Dialectical means acting through opposing forces. DBT is effective in helping folks accept the reality of their lives and the reality of their (unwanted) behaviors and learn the necessary tools to manage. DBT is especially helpful for emotional regulation and management.

As a theory: “conceives of every human being as a system of protective and wounded inner parts led by a core Self. We believe the mind is naturally multiple and that is a good thing. Just like members of a family, inner parts are forced from their valuable states into extreme roles within us. Self is in everyone. It can’t be damaged. It knows how to heal.”
As a practice: “helps people heal by accessing and healing the protective and wounded inner parts. IFS creates inner and outer connectedness by helping people first access their Self and from that core, come to understand and heal their parts.”

Whether one event or a series, the stories we tell ourselves shape our reality. Through this work, folks will help themselves reclaim the narrative of their life. Narrative therapy also seeks to help individuals separate themselves from their problems, creating a more empowered personal narrative and more effective problem solving.

Somatic therapy offers practices to support your body and brain/body connection. If you have experienced trauma and are working through your trauma, it is essential that both your brain and body are present in the room.
